Deliverance

What deliverance do you see? From blistering heat and rising seas,From drought and famine as humanity flees,The choking carbon and dying trees.

What deliverance do you hear? From climate change and empty decrees,From stories of horror and damning disease,Of looting, destruction, and drowned cities.

What deliverance do you taste? From hurricane floods and fire tsunamis,From landscapes arid and climate refugees,From environment disaster and catastrophes.

What deliverance do you feel? From death of nature in Anthropocene,From eco destruction and brutality,The darkened planet and human insanity.

What deliverance do you deny?In nature defiled and extinction cries,In toxic plumes and glacier demise,Suffocating lands in partisan lies.

What deliverance do you pray?In climate delusions and political frays,In market faith and techno ways,To save our world from oblivion days.

What deliverance do you seek?In cognitive bargains in a climate bleak,That ravage life in whimpering shrieks,The human dusk this Earth with wreak.

Elegy

Plummeting toward oblivion,Toward our century of hell,Catastrophic climate change,In screams of our death knell.

Sulphur sunsets and skies so bleached,Storms of dust and rivers of mud,Climate revision in political decision,In the onslaught of the flood.

Boiling seas and lands so parched,Inferno Earth and poison air,Elegy written in species’ tears,Leaders’ lies and empty stares.

Deformed beyond recognition,Defiled beyond all scope,Our planet dies, fatalistic sighs,In despair and end of hope.

Extinction

Climate fiction, climate fact,The ecology is unforgiving,Fire storms and glacial cracks,On the brink of our extinction.

Plastic death, plastic hell,Industrial price comes due,Acid waters and decaying smell,Stench of air and chemical stew.

Generation old, generation new,In this apocalyptic age,Complacency, anger, right on cue,Those not yet born – outrage.

End Times

In the third decade of the 21st century,Twilight of the empires,Warring tribes bathe in blood,Consumed in raging fires.

In the third decade of the 21st century,Odometer for all species,Extinction looms in pitiless time,Drowned in seething seas.

In the third decade of the 21st century,End game of millennium,Choking world breathes its last,Hurtling toward oblivion.
